Exploring the Beauty of Southern Africa: From Namibia to Zimbabwe

From Namibia, to Botswana, to Zambia, and Zimbabwe, southern Africa is absolutely one of my favorite places. Each country offers its own unique characteristics, Namibia is vast and dry, hosting some of the largest deserts on the continent. Botswana is by far my favorite when it comes to Safari and wildlife. And rafting the Zambezi River, well, let's just say the rules are a little different in Africa, LOL. In other words, hitting a rapid 6 and bouncing from the raft is no problem.

I had the chance to drive throughout Namibia with stops in Etosha national park and Damaraland. It's a bit more rugged than the other countries of southern Africa, but the vastness of it all will simply take your breath away. From there, you can cross over into Botswana and simply enjoy the wildlife and openness that we are blessed to see these animals migrate across. Chobe National Park, well, it just brings tears to my eyes when I think back. I recall self driving from Namibia into Botswana and sitting in my SUV as the elephants crossed the highway. I was there for a good 20 minutes waiting from the colony to pass over. Simply incredible.

Victoria Falls is a must, I would suggest taking flight on a handglide or getting some altitude to witness this incredible natural phenomenon. This is actually one of the seven wonders of the world and it will not disappoint. Hwange National Park is also a must if you are coming in from the west, the Hwange elephant population is considered one of the largest in the world. I'm hoping a few of these photos shared within this blog post will capture the vibe of the continent and region. You'll carry this feeling with you for the rest of your life. Enjoy and appreciate this area, it's an absolute blessing.
